About me

Hello, I’m Lauren Richards, a neuroaffirmative coach psychologist, qualified (but not practicing) psychotherapist, and lecturer with over 17 years of experience in mental health. Accredited by the European Mentoring and Coaching Council, I specialise in face-to-face and online coaching for women, teenagers and families, as well as well-being workshops and mental health training programs tailored to organisations.

My journey into this field began with a degree in Psychology and Organizational Psychology from the University of Cape Town. After relocating to the UK, I spent 13 years teaching Psychology at A-level while completing postgraduate training in Human Givens Psychotherapy and establishing a part-time practice. Later, I progressed to lecturing at degree level, contributing to the design and management of the BSc (Hons) Psychology of Human Behaviour. Driven by a deep interest in happiness and well-being, I pursued a Master’s in Science in Applied Positive Psychology and Coaching Psychology, graduating with distinction.

As an educator and practitioner, I am passionate about the science of human behavior and the intricate mind-body connection. I’ve developed university-level psychology programs that focus on positive psychology and strategies for maintaining both mental and academic well-being. My aim has always been to equip individuals with tools to thrive in their personal and professional lives.

In my practice, I combine psychological expertise with practical strategies to help clients understand their experiences and implement meaningful changes. Together, we explore the interplay between lifestyle and mental health, identifying adjustments that can lead to significant improvements.

I offer a confidential, supportive space where we can address your challenges collaboratively. Committed to providing the highest standards of care, I regularly attend training, review emerging research, and participate in professional supervision to ensure my approach remains informed and effective.

If you’re ready to take the first step toward positive change, please don’t hesitate to reach out. I’d be honored to support you on your journey.
